In 1796 Joshua Hurlbut was granted the “Mill lot” as long as he constructed a mill. He did not keep it long because there is a deed to the George brothers in 1802. In 1821 the Raymonds built a mill and dam upstream from the Hurlbut mill. to be expanded .
